FedRAMP 20x or Rev5: How to Choose Your Path in 2026
FedRAMP 20x and Rev5 are the two paths to a FedRAMP certification under the 2026 Consolidated Rules, and the choice is not a preference. Architecture sets your type, sponsor status sets your path, and reporting intensity sets your class. Cloud native providers with no agency sponsor are on the 20x path; Rev5 is for providers running their own infrastructure with a sponsor.
